Colorado Springs Ecumenical Social Ministries (ESM) was established as a nonprofit organization in 1982 by eight large downtown churches. Considered an outreach extension for the community, ESM responds to the emergency social service needs of low-income, homeless and unemployed individuals and families in Colorado Springs.

in observance of President's Day

Founded in 1982 by the eight downtown churches, ESM will be celebrating 30 yeras of service our neighbors in need in the downtown Colorado Springs region in 2012.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Preparation) begins
on Monday, January 30, 2012
On Monday, January 30 ESM will begin free income tax preparation under the VITA program. Clients are assisted at no cost by trained volunteers in filing personal income tax forms for the current tax year. Hours for the VITA program are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. / 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. First-come; first-serve; no appointment is required. For information call 228-6792.

In response to the Gospel, ESM promotes self-sufficiency and restores dignity by providing food, medicine, housing, job placement, educational programs, and spiritual encouragement.

ESM provides a collaborative Christian response to low income and homeless people in crisis.
