About Us

Founded in 1982 by eight large downtown "First" churches, Ecumenical Social Ministries was created as a collaborative Christian organization serving the emergency assistance needs of the low income and homeless. ESM takes a holistic approach to service delivery that provides for emergency needs, crisis stabilization, and strategies for longer-term economic independence.

ESM provides more than 18,000 services to approximately 17,000 individuals each year. These services are valued in excess of $740,000 annually. Our mission is accomplished with a staff of sixteen and approximately 180 volunteers, which keeps overhead costs at 9% of the annual budget.

Audited Financial Statements FY 2007 - coming November 2007
ESM is not required to complete an IRS Form 990
